What have you done today to build your business?

This question is an important one for merchants, affiliates, part timers, life timers and pretty much anyone else dorking around online to generate income.

This is also an important question to ask yourself often. It’s easy to wake up and spend the day just going through the motions, and just going through the motions is like treading water. It keeps you afloat, but doesn’t get you any closer to your goal.

Today, I’ve mostly gone through the motions. I’ve answered calls, taken orders, shipped products, checked stats, posted on forums, read blogs, researched traffic patterns, followed up on pending shipments, etc. About the only thing I’ve done today to build the business is a bit of work on our business plan which will help get financing for our new building which will give us room for growth without cracking. Still, to pay for it, I need to do more than just go through the motions…
